The exact location is classified (even to me) but this bucketmouth came certifiably out of Fairy Lake in Huntsville. Caught by Matt and crew just last week. I believe it weighed in at over 5 lbs. He was using a tube jig. All I can say is BEAUTY!
Thanks for sending this to me Jon! Click on the photo for a larger view. Keep those pictures coming everyone.

2 of the members of the Triple L Fishing Team managed to get a great pickerel fishing opportunity on a private Huntsville lake. The rest of the team (including myself) seemed to have lost our invitations…
I will put aside my jealously and post a couple of the pics that Darrell and Big Bill (my Dad) show off their 20+ inch walleye. That sounds like some lake guys! Click on the photos for a larger view. Maybe next time you could tell the rest of us.
Bill and Darrell would also like me to say a “BIG” thank-you to their mystery guide who took them fishing on his private lake.
A reminder for any of other visitors…send me a photo of your recent catch and I will post it – so long as it is ‘fit’ for family viewing.

The AEG (Angling Exploration Group) guys are at it again! They are working on the third installment of the their Trout Bum Diaries video series. They are not headed to some ‘out-of-the-way’ north country stream. No Sir. They are trekking their way into Mongolia in search of the ‘River Wolf’ – the Taimen fish species. A portion of their press release explains it best, Read the full story

I missed this story in June but, WOW, is all I can say! A Saskatchewan angler caught this 43lb world record Rainbow Trout on his favorite lake – Lake Diefenbaker. ESPN reports the story that you have to read. A portion of their article reads,
“The final tally after the 20-minute tussle to get the bruiser ‘bow to shore: 43.6 pounds, 38.75 inch in length and a girth of 34 inches. Should the numbers stand, Adam Konrad will hold the all-tackle world record for rainbow trout, eclipsing the 42-pound, 2-ounce standard that was set by a boy, David White, in June 1970 on Alaska’s Bell Island” Entire Article Here
After I read the story, I found another article about this fish. I regret that I lost the url that I had thought I had bookmarked. The article said that the rainbow trout are big in that lake because several fish escaped a farming pen due to ice damage on the pen’s perimeter.
I think I need to head out to Saskatchewan – ASAP!

Here is an interesting story from the Ottawa Citizen. An Ontario angler ‘caught’ a 12lb smallmouth bass and decided to fillet it instead of certifying it. I guess he did not know what he knows now before he cut it up. In the Ottawa Citizen’s own words, Read the full story
