New Most Wanted Pic: Quebec’s Piebald Deer

A fourteenth deer entry has been added to the Muskoka Outdoors ‘Most Wanted’ list  photo contest. These piebald fawns, from Quebec, started a google search for me to find more details about this genetic condition.

This photo is a submission from, Mitch, who is from the beautiful province of Quebec.

It turns out that Piebald deer are, simply, deer with a brown and white spotting pattern. Sometimes, they can almost be all white (like an albino deer) but they are NOT considered the same (Sources: Wikipedia and Buck Manager).

Mitch, shares with the photo entry,

“Here in Quebec we are not allowed to shot does… but I would like to share this picture of our albino triplets… I captured them on my outdoor camera:)

Thanks for your photo Mitch!

This is pretty cool, i have never heard of this before actually. Is this some sort of genetic mutation?

I really like this picture. I saw a piebald deer for the first time last year.

They are really nice to look at.
