Algonquin Park Plane Crash Kills Family

In a tragic twist to a holiday weekend the Globe and Mail reports that an Ontario family was killed in a plane crash that occured in Algonquin Park.

Kevin, his son and heir to the family company, daughter-in-law Lorraine, granddaughter Emily and her boyfriend, Michael Rollins, were returning home to Sudbury, Ont., Saturday for Thanksgiving celebrations when their small plane crashed in the wooded Algonquin Provincial Park, killing all four. Husband and wife, both 50, and the two 17-year-old teens had left Kingston late in the afternoon after visiting Emily’s older sister, who is studying science at Queen’s University. The area around Devine Lake, where the crash occurred, is only accessible by air which hampered quick rescue operations.
