Lake of Bays Trout On Ice
Gord Bell from Beauview Cottage Resort on Lake of Bays (in Dwight, Ontario) recently shared some photos of lake trout (the biggest trout in the picture) and brook trout caught through the ice. He reports that residents and visitors to Lake of Bays we able to catch these trout only a few days ago.
At the time these photos were taken the ice depth was 12 inches in various shady bays on the lake. These trout were caught in Whitehouse Bay. Don’t expect safe ice conditions now as we have had some more warm weather settle in.
For more details about the beautiful Beauview Cottage Resort and these trout, visit Gord’s website here. He can probably tell you the current ice conditions if you contact him.

Hey Bill nice posts you have been adding on this site. I was wondering if you know any Huntsville or (close) area spots for trout in the beginning/mid April.I have been living in Huntsville for about a year now since joining the Survivorman team and i was wondering about early season trout fishing.
Any help would be great. – I hear the river lock between Mary and Fairy lake are good for lakers when the smelt run.?
