Two Shelter Valley Creek Anglers Fined

It is nice to see our angling laws getting enforced as The Belleville Intelligencer reports that two anlgers illegally netted some rainbow trout out of local fishing waters earlier this year. The paper says that,

“The men were arrested on April 25 under the Highway 401 causeway over Shelter Valley Creek by conservation officers with the Ministry of Natural Resources, court was told. Officers saw the men chasing fish up against culvert before using a large landing net to scoop them out of the water.” Entire Article Here

The fine was $600 dollars. I trust the men who were charged were simply unaware of legal fishing methods. A big reminder to us all to be sure of the fishing regulations in the lakes we are fishing in.
