How To Get Your Wife (or Girlfriend) In Your Fishing Boat

I did some brainstorming on this one and came up with a Top 5 List of things you could say that might help you get your wife to enjoy your next fishing excursion with you. Of course many of us have wives that either fish or enjoy fishing with us. If you don’t, let me know how these work! Use at own risk.

  1. “That’s not a fishing platform in the front, honey, it’s a tanning deck with optimal tanning angles.”
  2. “I think Brad Pitt has a cottage on this lake.”
  3. “There will be plenty of time to communicate…”
  4. “I hear that shore lunch campfires can be very romantic this time of year.”
  5. “I’ll buy you a new outfit when we get back?”

Are there any that you have tried with relative amounts of success?

Hmmm, well – I’m not sure I’m brave enough to try the “There will be plenty of time to communicate.” line – that sounds like something I don’t want to do while I’m fishing! Luckily for me, I can use the “Let’s go fishing” line – my wife falls for it every time! She loves it!

I’m not sure any of those would work on me. I like to fish, but I’m not fond of staying out all day and I don’t want to get up at the crack of dawn. Tell me we won’t be doing either of those things and I’ll probably be willing to go.
