Last Minute Father’s Day Gifts for the Fisherman

My wife just asked me this morning what I would like for Father’s Day. After thinking about it for a moment, I gave her some ideas that she could consider for her last minute shopping trip. In case she is not alone, I thought I would post my ideas here

  1. Berkley Gulp Alive (leech or smelt) – This stuff just came out and I have been ‘itching’ to try it. The Berkley website describes like this: NEW Berkley® Gulp!® Alive!™ is the next generation in Gulp!® technology. Now your favorite baits come floating in the “Magic Gravy” in Pint or Quart buckets, enabling you to recharge your baits by putting them back into the bucket. The new Gulp!® Alive!™ baits absorb 20% more Gulp!® scent and attractant which, you guessed it, makes them at least 20% MORE EFFECTIVE than the 1st generation baits. They also have a 34% better swimming action than original Gulp!®. WOW! More attractant, better action, BETTER RESULTS than ever before! At Berkley®, our passion is that you CATCH MORE FISH! Get yourself some Gulp!® Alive!™ and go have some major fun!
  2. Bass Pro Shops E-Gift Card – Now this is a great idea from Bass Pro Shops! You can purchase a gift card online (from their website) and if could be in your husband’s or father’s inbox by tomorrow morning. Then, during dad’s breakfast in bed, he can surf and buy whatever he desires from Bass Pro Shops.
  3. Donate to fishing charities like: Trout Unlimited, OFAH

My last suggestion is best described in the following photo. If you think it’s a trolling motor – you are missing the point!

The best gift for the fishing father on father’s day is calm lake with a view.

Fishing and hunting is more about the people you are in the outdoors with, then the fish or game you catch. This is a outdoor truth I learned from fishing and hunting with my father and grandfather at an early age. Whether, I am fishing the back country of a Algonquin Park or the lakes and rivers of my hometown Huntsville, ON the story behind every fish and game animal is better shared with friends. Blogging is the way in which I can share the truths, the teachable moments, and the incredible memories of every outdoors trip.
