Canopy Chair: Where has this been hiding?

Canopy ChairHere is an item that could make an interesting Christmas gift for the outdoors person on your list. It’s a portable folding chair with a special bonus – it has a waterproof roof! The product is called the, Canopy Chair, from the people at Renetto.

I was a children’s soccer coach for a couple of years and the first thing I thought of when I saw this Outdoor Chair was how it would have made a huge difference during a rainy day tournament I was at. There was no shelter to speak of and the rain was pouring constantly. I had to wait in my car between games. I could have probably sold time shares for access to this chair!

Slate Magazine has this to say about this portable Camping Chair:

We have invented a patent-pending product which was voted best portable chair on the market.”

I never had an actual chair to review, but I found their website to be very informative about their product. The concept is great! The final folded package would have been cool to see first hand, but their website shows some photos of the final transformation. Some stats about the chairs are:

  • Weight: 12.5 Ibs
  • Capacity: 250 lbs & 6’5 Adults
  • Material: Made with lightweight steel and heavy-duty polyester fabric (600D)
  • Carry Size: 37″ x 7.75″ x 7.75″
  • The canopy is waterproof

It is the unique kind of gift that leaves you with two choices on Christmas Eve – Do you wrap it folded up or with the roof on?

It’s your call.

That would also be a great chair for people like me who want to stay out of direct sunlight. My skin is very fair and I burn quite easily, so I’m attracted to shade. This chair would let me take my own shade with me.
