In Response to PETA’s New Signs

I have just recently seen some new anti-hunting/fishing signs in PETA’s repertoire. Craig, over at Outdoor U, posted them on his site. The signs bugged me for a few reasons:

  • Because PETA made them
  • They claim fish feel pain. I have seen more science showing this is not the case, but they claim ‘their scientists’ have proven this. Either way, catch and release fishing practices have improved fisheries in many countries and locations. Here is a study on mortality rates of hooked fish. They are relatively small.
  • They fail to mention that pests and other animals are killed to ensure that farmers (producers) minimize their losses of vegetables for markets. (ie. mice, deer, rabbits) So much for the high ground.
  • They are calling all of us who enjoy turkey dinners for Christmas – killers.

So in response to their signs below (click on the picture for a larger view):

I have created my own version of their propaganda:

Awesome sign. I think you should keep going and make some more as well.

Would you mind if I put the sign on my site????

    Nicely done!

I usually tend to ignore PETA propaganda, but they just make it so tough sometimes.

That’s pretty funny. I agree with Jeff, do a series and sell them.
