In the Company of Rivers
I just received a press release (from author, Ed Quigley) about his NEW flyfishing book that is hot off the press. There is a definite ‘Canadian connection’ here, in that, 3 chapters of the book are dedicated to some sweet brook trout fishing on the Minipi River in Labrador. The photo on the cover of the book was shot by Canadian, Mark Krupa.
A section of the press release about, In the Company of Rivers, says the following,
In the Company of Rivers is to fly fishing what Bryson’s A Walk in the Woods is to hiking. It is not a how-to book, not the usual Joe-and-me fishing stories. It is, instead, a celebration of the special camaraderie found among fishing buddies It does not proselytize “the fine art,” hold its nose in the air or blow philosophical smoke. Instead Quigley takes his readers on a journey to Scotland for salmon, Ireland for trout, Alaska for rainbows, the Carolinas for bass, Labrador for giant brookies, the Florida Keys for tarpon, the Bahamas for bonefish and more.

I purchased the hard copy and have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. As a “regional” angler I really enjoyed the Author’s fishing experiences in Canada, Alaska and beyond. Nicely done!
Or you could buy me one Christine..lol!
Absolutely, Kristine, you should get this book for your Dad. He’ll enjoy these literate, humorous stories. Wish my daughter were this thoughtful.
My Dad has recently rediscovered fly fishing and really loves it. Maybe I should get him this book for Christmas.
