In Memory of a Good Friend

my_fishing_rod.jpgI lost one of my greatest fishing buddies. Out of nowhere he was snatched out of my life. It is the end of an era for my fishing rod and reel combination. Someone stole it out of my boat. My stupid error, someone else’s gain. Is it possible to become attached to an inanimate object? I dare say it could be. If I could not depend on the guy netting my fish, I knew I could count on my lightning rod/Shimano reel combo.

I could feel the moles on a tadpole and differentiate between weed and mud in an instant! I knew how much bend it could take and how much ‘whine’ my drag could handle. It made any fish feel huge and it did not laugh when a fish ‘spit’ the hook.

All the best to ya buddy. May you end up in the hands of kid and if not, break on the first fight of a large fish.

Fish in Peace.

To the guy who took you from me, I hope you never know what you are truly holding.

Sorry to hear about your rod and reel. You took that with more humor than I would have.

You have my sympathies. It’s easy to buy another rod, but it’s harder to replace one.

I’m sorry you lost your fishing rod. My Dad is a dedicated fisherman and very picky about his equipment. He has several rods that it would pain him greatly to lose. So, I understand a little bit of what you feel.
