“Wildlife Act changes challenged”
This does not surprise me one bit. In fact I have been waiting to her the nonsense the animal rights will come up with to challenge this sound wildlife management proposal. Their proposal shows just how much they actually know about wildlife and conservation. Anyone suggesting seriously that wildlife should be left to their own devise and more animals should be listed in the endangered species act should have their sanity and sound judgment questioned. One just has to read the statement to realize how ignorant these groups are to facts “Groups want greater emphasis on protection, rather than more hunters killing more animals.”

“Bear sightings triple” No wonder then that more and more Ontarians complain about dangerous encounters with bears. That’s exactly what you get when wildlife conservation become a political election issue.
Was it not the former premier (name escapes me at the moment) that banned the spring bear hunting season to appeal to the city folks and animal rights types? I remember all the hoopla about it when this happened. I also distinctly remember that the then premier said to the hunters and outfitters that they can quit their protesting about the bear hunt ban as he has made up his mind about it. In the same statement he said something along the line that rural, hunters and outfitters are not as important to his re-election as the city folks are and thus the spring bear hunt ban would stay.
