A fellow local lake angler emailed me last week with some photos of his recent fishing trip in our area. I had indicated on a map (that he emailed) some of my favourite pike ‘holes’ in Vernon Lake. They did not have much success there so they hit a couple of other lakes in the area.
Those lakes were Sand Lake (in Kearney) and Bartlett Lake (north of Sprucedale). Here is some of the information he sent me regarding these lakes,
I suggest you try Sand Lake or Bartlett Lake just north of Sprucedale. Bartlett is very good, you can troll by the cottages at the north side of the lake and catch pike, small and large mouth bass at a constant rate. Also there is some amazing weed cover at the north west top of the lake. We’ve snagged some serious smallies with minnows just casting off the weed beds in the back with bobbers.
The pictures above and below are from Robert’s trip to Sand Lake. Click on the photos for a larger view.
Thanks for the photos and update Robert! I wish I was there. Too bad the bass were out of season!
Email me some photos anytime! That goes for everybody. No need to include exact locations…
