PETA Take Your ‘Letter’ Somewhere Else

Bob Izumi FishingAccording to PETA, people who hunt and fish are more likely to be violent toward humans in later life. In a letter to a charitable Police Organization in Toronto (PAO), PETA is upset that this police group is sponsoring an event called “Kids, Cops, and Canadian Tire Fishing Days“. Kids should not be taught to impale fish and watch them struggle for their lives. Where do these guys get their support?

A portion of the letter they sent to the police group says some things that impacts anyone who has ever taken their son or daughter fishing. I am insulted.

Teaching kids that it’s acceptable to impale animals with metal hooks is dangerous. Sociological data overwhelmingly prove that children who abuse animals are more likely to be violent toward humans later in life. Robert Ressler, who developed profiles of serial killers for the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, said that “[m]urderers … very often start out by killing and torturing animals as kids.” Entire Article Here.

It interesting to think that becuase my father took me fishing as a kid, he was actually grooming me to become a murder. I don’t buy it! I am also pretty sure that he did not feel he was putting me at ‘risk’ while showing me how to bait my hook. Not only that, but now I abuse animals by fishing.

This is why as an angler and hunter I take notice when PETA and other similar entities push for animal abuse laws and regulations. They have already taken the good that can come from this fishing partnership and twisted it into something fishing is not.

Take your letter somewhere else.
