I did not go myself (unfortunately), but I read a great article the other day that had some good information regarding walleye fishing in this area. There are some great lure and bait suggestions listed that I have taken note of (for our upcoming spring walleye fishing trip). For a teaser clipping,
The lower Niagara River and the sand bar in Lake Ontario in front of Fort Niagara are two excellent areas to try for walleye. The efforts of the Niagara River Anglers in their walleye rearing and stocking program have been paying off. Where walleye were once few and far between, limiting out is very likely now. I don’t know if this area is accessible by Canadian Anglers (CHECK YOUR MAPS), but the lure recommendation my be beneficial. On lure mentioned was called the “Rat-L-Trap” (see the pics). The author uses a blue chrome variant and says it was fantastic in Lake Temagami. I have fished there and did not have the lure. I am going to check that out.
Another lure was metioned. It was called the “Quick Fish”. I have never heard of it. I could not find a picture of it. If anyone could comment with a link to a picture of this lure that would be great.

A Qwik Fish looks like the flat fish type lures we used some years ago. They have a great wabble to them and can be fished dead slow. Daryl Chronzey was using one on his most recent Saturday morning show to catch big Lake Trout while still-fishing in northern Manitoba somewhere.
