Dr. Juice And My Confession

drjuice1.jpg I thought they stopped making the stuff because I never seem to see it in stores up here. That stuff being Dr. Juice fish scent. Numerous times on canoe trips (despite my previous post) in Algonquin Park Dad and I would sneak a couple drops on the baits we were using. Then just sit back and watch the stumped look on the guys faces from the canoes around us.

One time dad and I anchored in a bay on small Algonquin lake. We splashed on some Dr. Juice and within minutes were were hauling in some beautiful lakers onto our canoe’s floor. The guys we were fishing with heard our excitement and paddled their canoes over to our area and anchored inches from our canoe.

They put on a similar ‘rig’ to what we were using expecting similar results. They were wrong. We were the only canoe with the “Dr. Juice” and we were not telling!

Fish after fish we caught and released in front of our friends. I think the right word be a ‘Clinic’ and we were ripping out Bob Izumi lines and fish displays.

We ended the day not sharing our little secret with the demoralized anglers. This blog post changes that mistake. We ran out of Dr. Juice after our clinic and as fate would have it we have been unable to find it since. We tried other brands in similar scenarios but we never got the same results.

This all changed when I saw some in Cabelas’ online store last night. I love the internet!

Of course, maybe we did so well because of our talent?
