Liberals Want More Restrictions on Firearms

OFAH logo I would think that there exists people in this country who hunt and/or use firearms (legally) who voted Liberal. If that was you please educate those within Liberal Party Leadership a thing or two about firearms. This way they will stop embarrassing themselves when they talk about guns. Just in case they forgot that they wasted 2 billion dollars or OUR money on a gun registry that basically just put plastic cards in gun owners hands and did nothing to stop criminals.

The OFAH has sent an ‘excellently’ worded letter to the Liberals. Here is an excerpt. You really must read the letter in it’s entirety on their site.

…Our opposition to the resolution is based on two factors: 1) the glaringly incorrect information on which the resolution itself was based; and 2) the ongoing failure of the Liberal Party of Canada to understand that legal, law-abiding hunters, target shooters, farmers and other firearms owners in Canada are not the problem, nor are they in any way a threat to the public safety.

It seems apparent from the wording of the resolution that whoever crafted it has no knowledge of firearms. Fully automatic firearms are of the type that when the trigger is pressed, the firearm will continue to fire until the trigger is released, or the magazine is empty. Very few of these types of firearms are in the possession of private citizens, are classified as prohibited, and have never been used for hunting. In fact, as of April 10, 2005, they can no longer be transported to a shooting range for target practice…

Now on to Mr. Harper. I (we) are still waiting for changes to current gun registry you said were coming. If you could work some time in for that between finding practical and effective ways to save our environment and bringing a resolution to things in Afghanistan it would be appreciated.

From what I hear Kyoto was signed on to by the same party that wasted our 2 billion dollars on a gun registry. I wonder what 2 billion dollars could have done for the environment. Probably more than the impact our registry had on criminals.
