I figured I better warn our visitors about this post before they view it. I came across an article that pushes the limit on appropriate content, but it needs to be shared. I apologize in advance for those I offend but…
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The Toronto Sun reports that a judge banned a Christmas tree from the lobby of a provincial courthouse. A worker in the courthouse deemed that this tree was offensive to them because it was a Christian symbol. The paper reports:
Justice Marion Cohen ordered the decorated tree to be moved Monday from the lobby of the Ontario Court of Justice at 311 Jarvis St. to an out-of-the-way administrative corridor on grounds it is a Christian symbol that alienates people of other creeds and traditions. Entire Article Here.
I do NOT understand how a Christmas tree is offensive! I also had no idea the Christmas tree was a ‘Christian’ symbol. The judge better check her records on that one. My Christmas meaning does not come from a tree, but from a baby born in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago. It may be harder to ban the pictures of newborn babies from public places.
This ruling smacks of intolerance and gives us a clue as to where this year’s Christmas Grinch is.
For the 99.8% of people from different cultures, religions, creeds and traditions who do NOT find a Christmas tree offensive,
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Very Good Point Jim! Thanks for leaving us that info. Now if I could just forward it to the judge somehow…
This is out of control… that Judge is nothing but a Scrooge and I hope that she can dig that lump of coal out of you now where the sun don’t shine.
Merry Christmas Everyone….
Taken from a recent article done by Lou Dobbs on CNN
Dobbs: A tree grows in Seattle
The irony that escaped the rabid rabbi and the timid Sea-Tac management team is that the Christmas tree’s likely origin dates back to pre-Christian pagan cultures. The Christmas tree is not by any means a religious symbol, and when we’re honest about it, the tree’s become a purely commercial symbol more closely associated with shopping, roasting chestnuts and guzzling eggnog than a nativity scene with baby Jesus.
