Imagine flying back from a hunting adventure to the North. You have declared your firearm. It has been checked by everyone who you thought needs to check it. You have turned it over to security for transport and then you step onto an Air Canada plane…This is the setting behind this incredible story from, The Gun Nut, at Field and Stream. He shares this story of someone’s recent experience with Air Canada:
The doors are about to close when an Air Canada functionary accosts him and asks if he is the gentleman traveling with the firearm. Ernest says yes, he is.
“Well then,” says the AC person, “would you mind giving me the key to your case? It needs ADDITIONAL SCREENING.”“Why?” asks Ernest. “It’s already been checked twice.
I understand (mostly) the the big need for security…but at least if you are the company making the fuss about firearm security you:
- should pack and ‘SECURE’ the firearms you are worried about.
- train your staff to treat all of their clients with respect even if they do check in a firearm.
I am looking forward to the rest of the story.
