Bring Wild Turkeys to Manitoulin Island

Wild Turkey It is a pretty, cool thing when you start to see a species being re-introduced to your area. Locals in my area are reporting seeing elk in our area and over that past couple of years I have seen several wild turkeys around our home and hunting area. The OFAH needs your help to bring turkeys to Manitoulin Island area. Their website reports the following:

The O.F.A.H. has conducted its own review and concluded that wild turkeys will produce many positive benefits for Island residents, First Nations, sportsmen and local businesses, without any negative impacts.

A PETITION is currently being circulated on the Island to demonstrate to the Minister of Natural Resources that the community supports wild turkeys.

PETITIONS can also be downloaded here.

Take a moment to make a difference. Although we can not hunt them yet, the wild turkey program in our area is very successfull.
