Our home away from home during moose season and other outdoor activities.
A friend of ours took a picture of Moose Lodge for us (before our recent thaw) and has recently emailed them to me. I thought I would share these photos with you as a tribute to the cabin that means so much to many of us here at Muskoka Outdoors.
Moose Lodge This Winter:

Moose Lodge This Past Fall:

Can’t wait to get back! I was reminded of a fall posting that summarized the Moose Hunt of 2005. Thought I’d leave a portion of that summary as a closing:
I got to spend time with my dad in the setting of the beautiful outdoors.
I was able to hunt with the rifle my grandfather once used before he died.
The smell of coffee, bacon and smoke from the crackle of hot flame in the woodstove.
Watching the early morning sun from the sanctuary of your tree stand.
Finding fresh deer beds in a place you have never walked over before.
A face to face encounter with a cow moose in grandpa’s old swamp. (We did not have a cow tag!)
Re-uniting with other family members over a ham sandwhich lunch.
Hunting videos over the hum of the generator.
Watching a deer eating on the way to your watch.
Spending time with a new potential hunter and sharing “tips” behind our success. The visit of friends from civilization with Tim Horton’s donuts and coffee.Fixing and old tree stand.Making a new deer watch.Hearing a Bull moose enter the swamp just out of sight.Walking across a beaver dam and falling in. (Nice one dad!)T-bone Steak Night! The anticipation of the upcoming deer hunt…Priceless!

hey, nice pics. Great place to relax. I hear that it can get pretty warm in there with the stove and all.
