Can’t Wait Until Ice Out

In late winter and early spring (or, in northern latitudes, after ice breaks up), look for fish moving in to the northern and northeastern shores of lakes. The sun hits these areas longest, and backwater bays, coves and other sheltered spots may be several degrees warmer than deep waters nearby attracting bait- and gamefish.
